Angels Sign Tyler Anderson to Three-Year Contract
Anderson joins Angels rotation after strong 2022 season
Deal worth $39 million
The Los Angeles Angels have signed left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson to a three-year, $39 million contract, the team announced Monday. Anderson, who turns 33 in December, was one of the most coveted free agents on the market after a strong 2022 season with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Anderson went 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA in 178 1/3 innings pitched last season. He struck out 179 batters and walked just 39. Anderson's signing gives the Angels a much-needed boost to their starting rotation, which struggled last season.
The Angels finished 73-89 last season and missed the playoffs. They are hoping that Anderson can help them return to contention in 2023.
